Location/Client: East Asia and the Pacific/World Bank
Time frame: March - July 2005
The East Asia Pacific (EAP) Region of the Global Development Learning Network includes Development Learning Centers in Australia, China (3), East Timor, Indonesia (3), Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam (2). The objective of the consultancy was to develop a marketing strategy for the region in close consultation with Development Learning Center (DLC) managers. The consultancy was jointly funded by the World Bank's East Asia-Pacific Region and the Tokyo Development Learning Centre.
In close consultation with the managers of the DLCs, Educo identified donor priorities in each country and across the region as a basis for a marketing strategy. The final strategy was presented to a regional meeting in Hanoi. It included recommendations concerning:
- Options for a more effective EAPA website;
- A system for sharing market information amongst EAPA members;
- Development of marketing materials, including both electronic and traditional print-based materials; and
- Proposals for developing and publicizing region-wide content.
